Also known as Kilbride Bay by some people and on some maps, this crescent-shaped sweep of sand is the jewel in the crown of Argyll?s Secret Coast. Cycle in or park your car in the big lay-by at the side of the road. From here it?s a fifteen minute walk to the beach, crossing springy machair, which is covered in flowers in spring and summer. Climb over the dunes and the beach stretches out ahead of you with Arran on the horizon.
On a sunny day it?s a fabulous place to spend the day paddling, sun-bathing and swimming. There?s plenty of room for a game of rounders or football, especially when the tide?s out.
