Cycling

The quiet country roads and off-road forest tracks and trails of Argyll?s Secret Coast offer fantastic cycling and mountain biking opportunities.

A ten-mile trail starting at Kames and heading round Ardlamont Point is just one of the road routes that all the family can easily tackle. Another more challenging route takes you from Tighnabruaich through Kilfinan, Otter Ferry, Bealachandrain Pass and Glendaruel back to Tighnabruaich. Or you could pedal from Tighnabruaich through Kilfinan and Otter Ferry then along coast road to Lachlan Castle before returning to Tighnabruaich via Glendaruel.

There are some great mountain biking trails in the forests in and around Argyll?s Secret Coast. Explore the forest between Portavadie and Kilfinan or go further afield to Glenbranter, Ardentinny and Glenfinnart and Ardgarten. The Forestry Commission website is a great online resource for finding cycling trails in the area.

You can hire bikes from Portavadie Marina.
